About the Journal

Ra Ximhai is a biannual, interdisciplinary scientific journal published by the General Coordination of Research and Graduate Studies of the Autonomous Indigenous University of Mexico. Its objective is to publish scientific articles, case studies, essays, and book reviews, in English and Spanish, related to the social sciences.

The journal promotes open access to its content, serving as a platform for editorial dissemination that contributes to scientific production focused on priority national issues. It also publishes original content that strengthens the social appropriation of scientific and humanistic knowledge and underscores the social relevance of research, including the expression of Indigenous and community knowledge.

The Name

The journal's name, Ra Ximhai (written in the Otomi language), which translates to "the world, the Universe, or life," refers to nature from a cosmological perspective as understood by the Otomi people. The journal bears this title as a tribute to the indigenous cultures of the country, which form an important part of Mexico's cultural richness.

Open Access Policy

This journal is open access, meaning its content is freely available to all users. Users may read, download, distribute, print, and link to the full texts of the articles, provided it is for non-commercial purposes and the source is cited, with the aim of fostering a greater exchange of knowledge.

If their work is accepted for publication, they grant the journal the right of first publication under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License, as well as the right to edit the text for style correction, store, reproduce, publish, communicate, and publicly transmit their work in any form, medium, or format for scientific, academic, cultural, and dissemination purposes, always giving credit to the author(s).
