Abstract

The empowerment of women is based on the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 agenda; seeking the full participation of women in decision-making at all hierarchical levels of public and private institutions. The objective of the study is to know the scientific research that is carried out in a quantifiable way. To this end, this article proposes a bibliometric analysis where 32 years between 1991 and 2023 were studied on the women empowerment in the area of administrative economic sciences using the web of science database. In addition, authors, institutions, countries and sources are identified. The evolution of the study over time shows the increase in the importance of the topic, since in 1991 there were 8 documents and by 2023 a production of 617 was reported, observing that the years 2020 and 2021 were the years with the highest production. The VOSviewer software tool was used to construct and visualize bibliometric networks. Where graphic maps are displayed through bibliographic link, analysis of citations and citations, co-authorship and co-occurrence of author keywords.
