Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the impact that social movements have on the recognition of indigenous movements, and more specifically on indigenous political ecology. The ethnic component of indigenous movements is oriented towards the conclusion that they cannot be studied like other social movements, under a theoretical approach to social movements. Finally, the tendency of transnationalization of indigenous movements is analyzed.
