Abstract

One of the policies in teacher training colleges is the creation of academic bodies that promote the generation and application of knowledge in order to raise the quality of teacher training. For this reason, it is necessary to assess and analyze the experience in the creation of academic bodies in the State of Mexico. To do this, a qualitative research is carried out under the phenomenological approach, in a case study, conducting in-depth interviews and surveys to a group of teachers. Among the results obtained, the complexity that teacher training colleges experience in carrying out research processes, unlike other HEIs, is observed. However, the commitment of the CA seen as an epistemic community influences the continuous improvement in the initial training processes of basic education teachers.
