Diagnosis of the production of articles indexed in the Science Journal Citation Reports in northern Sinaloa

Abstract

A diagnosis of the number of scientific and technological articles published in journals found in the Science Journal Citation Reports was made by researchers working in the main research centers and public universities in the north of the state of Sinaloa, Mexico. For this purpose, the databases of some of the institutions mentioned were reviewed, as well as online and personal consultations. The range and average impact factor of the articles are disclosed. The research centers are those that presented a greater number of indexed journals, however, when comparing the average impact factor with some of the public institutions and universities, similar results were obtained. It is evident that the productivity of high-impact scientific articles in the northern part of the state is still low despite the productive economic dynamism that this region presents.
