Abstract

In the NMS it has been relevant to investigate the notion of reading and how reading comprehension skills are developed since they are the basis of learning. According to Frida Díaz Barriga and Hernández (2002) the critical and reflective understanding of texts is one of the nodal activities in the construction of meanings. Reading comprehension skills are developed in learners in a strategic and self-regulated manner, as we know today thanks to research. Promoting the development of communicative skills contributes to the foundation of the curriculum consisting of educating so that the student acquires skills that allow him to face problems in a collaborative and competent manner.
