Abstract

The assessment of competencies in the classroom is one of the issues that has caused the most turmoil within the professional academic world. In the field of the Comprehensive Reform of Upper Secondary Education, it constitutes a challenge posed to respond to the needs of quality, equity and coverage that we are faced with in Mexico, since it is necessary to recognize that the evaluation processes do not always provide elements of transformation in the lives of students and teachers. Therefore, the paradigm shift in evaluation currently involves a series of challenges to face.

Socio-formation proposes a series of elements to consider as part of the evaluation actions, including considering the context, the decision-making that implies recognizing the results of the evaluation, and above all providing elements of growth for students in their learning process for life.

This article presents the main elements of the complex matrix method that give rise to the construction of the learning maps proposed by the socio-formative approach to education. In addition, you can find an example of an application that shows the elements that comprise it: criteria, evidence, performance levels, weighting, types of evaluation, achievements and aspects to improve.
