Cuban Higher Education has begun the 21st century with new ideas generated by its own development and the aspiration to turn the entire country into a great university. That is why the methodological work in postgraduate education must be the object of critical reflection and innovation, since it requires careful organization and planning so that our professionals are prepared to independently and creatively solve the problems that affect the quality of the development of the environment, not only in relation to the production of knowledge but also to the introduction and implementation of the same, with a correct direction and planning of this process. It is therefore valid to train professionals who are increasingly competent and committed to their social role, in the solution of situations that affect the society of which they are an essential part. Methodological work governs the postgraduate training process as it offers structure and form to said process. In Cuba, the Postgraduate Education System constitutes a strength since the training of professionals is carried out in various ways depending on the level and real needs of the trained professional. A reflection is offered in which the mission of the university as a manager of knowledge and of the comprehensive training of professionals is set out through the manifestation of the postgraduate training process based on the development of the territory and how this process is efficiently guided by the elements that nourish the methodological work.
