Abstract

This paper describes the design, construction and application of a wireless communication-based smart sensor system, developed to facilitate the implementation of smart spaces, through which it is possible to monitor and supervise physical environmental variables in a residence or commercial building. This system is intended to assist in the use and saving of electric energy, optimizing the use of lighting and air conditioning systems only at times and under pre-established conditions by the end user. The system integrates a variety of temperature, humidity, lighting, carbon monoxide, LP gas, presence and noise sensor modules, which have the ability to work collaboratively in networks with star, tree and mesh topologies.
