Abstract

The following article is a brief description of the violence generated in the school community of the Centro de Bachillerato Tecnológico Chiconcuac (CBT Chiconcuac) and the way in which these become everyday occurrences through the eyes of teachers and students.

A fundamental aspect of these acts of violence is that because they occur on a “day-to-day basis”, they are assumed to be correct and “tolerable”, leaving a feeling of calm, as if “nothing is happening”, which is why they should be subject to reflection by the school community.

The article is part of a series of reflections that have been made through the peace studies of the postgraduate course “Education for Peace and School Coexistence” taught by the Universidad Autónoma Indígena de México.
